  1. The 11th West African IGF (WAIGF) drew over 400 participants to the Kairaba Beach Hotel near Banjul, The Gambia, on 25\u201326 July 2019, under the theme 'Shared responsibilities of stakeholders for a robust Internet Governance Ecosystem.'<\/strong><\/li>\n
  2. Five sub-themes structured the debate: multistakeholderism, cross-border data governance, media and content, access and infrastructure, and digital rights and freedom of expression online. The WASIG capacity-building school preceded the forum.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  3. Debating online freedom of expression in a Gambia just emerging from authoritarian rule gave the theme real weight; the data-flows and platform questions remain universal.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
