  1. The 10th Kenya IGF met at Nairobi's Laico Regency Hotel on 6 July 2017 under the theme 'Internet and Elections' \u2014 one month before the 8 August general election, with about 250 participants.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  2. Election technology, social-media disinformation and the looming question of an internet shutdown dominated. A policy brief on shutdowns and elections was launched during IGF Week; in July the regulator said it was not considering a shutdown, and none occurred.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  3. It stands as an early example of a national IGF confronting its own imminent election head-on \u2014 themes of disinformation and shutdown fears that would recur in elections worldwide.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
