  1. On 2 May 2022 \u2014 Nepal's National ICT Day \u2014 Youth IGF Nepal held its first annual meeting in Kathmandu under the theme 'Empowering Youths for Open and Inclusive Internet', with around 50 participants.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  2. The UN IGF Secretariat's NRI coordinator and the APrIGF chair sent opening remarks online; panels tackled Internet freedom, digital safety and youth participation, and the closing remarks warned that a broadcasting-rule amendment forcing OTT services to be licensed threatens free expression.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  3. Convened five months after UN recognition in December 2021, and backed by regulator NTA, it became an early South Asian model of youth, government and civil society at one table.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
