On 13\u201316 August 2018 the 9th yIGF met in Port Vila, Vanuatu \u2014 the first youth internet governance forum ever held in the Pacific \u2014 bringing together 21 young people from Vanuatu (mostly University of the South Pacific students) with participants from Australia and Taiwan.<\/strong><\/li>\n

Built on an idea wall, role-play and a mini-townhall, the camp focused on Pacific-island connectivity and gender equality; participants held dialogues with internet pioneer Vint Cerf and the UN High-level Panel on Digital Cooperation's Chengetai Masango, and their input fed the APrIGF synthesis document.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  3. Its distinct value lay in Pacific realities told first-hand \u2014 remote-only university lectures, gendered access gaps \u2014 and the camp helped spark momentum for a national IGF in Vanuatu.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
