The first Finnish Internet Forum (FIF) met on 20–21 September 2010 in the auditorium of Pikkuparlamentti, the Finnish Parliament's annex in Helsinki — the country's first national meeting where government, business and civil society debated internet governance as equals.
It was deliberately scheduled right after the 5th global IGF in Vilnius so that participants could carry the debate on to Helsinki: day one ran in English on international internet governance, day two in Finnish on national legislation and young people's internet use.
